Son of Ashton John and Elizabeth Alice nee Steele of Kings Mill Lane, Pitchcombe, husband of Edith Rosetta nee Mills of Eagle Cottage, Pitchcombe. Buried in Porto-Gruaro Hospital Grounds on the Lemene and Venice-Triest Railway. This place was captured by the Austrians and it has not been possible to locate the grave Commemorated on the Giavera Memorial, Italy
HARMER Harry Cpl 240500, 1/5th Gloucestershire Regt, killed in action on Wednesday 25/4/1917. Son of Albert and Ruth of Small Mill, Cottage, Pitchcombe and brother of James Alfred who also fell. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme. His correct name is Henry
