Following publication of the above listing, Roger Hiam provided further information  regarding Alfred James White :-

White, Alfred James Corporal 240736 (Previous number 2728TF) 1/5 Battalion. Born 5.8.1883 2nd of 3 sons born to Edward Charles and Emily White of Sherborne Street, Gloucester. Enlisted August 1914. To France 29.3.1915 with battalion. Wounded (slight) 13.2.1916. Promoted Lance Corporal(without pay) 14.9.1916. Married Mabel Agnes Lewis on 24 October 1916 at All Saints Parish Church Gloucester. Promoted Lance Corporal (With Pay) 26.12.1916. Killed-in-Action 16 August 1917 near St.Julien. No known grave but remembered on Tyne Cot Memorial (Panel 72-75). In 1901 census family living at 2 Sherborne Street and at time of his marriage gave 15 Alvin Street as his address.
